The Kirkup families around the world are descended from three main groups of Kirkups in the United Kingdom. They come from Cumbria, Durham and Northumberland. It is thought that originally they may have all come from Scotland, but that proof does not yet exist. This book tells the stories of some families as they spread out around the world.
